To all our valued customers
We are currently operating taking into account strict measures to tackle the risks of COVID-19.
Needless to say, we are closely monitoring the daily changing government guidelines and following their instructions accordingly.
We will continue to provide you with the best possible service and support you where we can. Most of you are in the hospitality business so you will be closed now to your customers. We strongly recommend that in the meantime you turn off the water to your coffee machine, boilers etc please call us if you need some direction or help. This will save any leaks or issues that will arise when you are closed. However, don’t forget to reconnect them when you reopen!
For customers staying open we are still taking orders and dispatching via the same methods. We are running on limited staff in the office and warehouse to ensure we do not contribute to the global threat. We are also ensuring we sanitise our offices and warehouse daily to reduce any risk.
These are very concerning times, but we will get through them and come back stronger than ever! Please ring 01202 800600 if you need a delivery and we will do our best to get it to you.
I want to take this opportunity to extend my best wishes to you and your families and to thank you for your continued loyalty.
We will keep abreast of any developments and will update you if anything changes.

Cupping is perhaps one of the most important skill anyone can develop within the coffee industry. Initially developed by green coffee buyer, "cupping" provides a consistent methodology for evaluating a coffee's quality before determining a price on a lot. In much the same way that a wine connoisseur would evaluate a fine Cabernet, cuppers must use a strict set of tasting protocols to assess quality.
The U-Roast Micro Roaster is a computer controlled, convection air coffee roaster. It roasts 2kg of green coffee beans in 20 minutes, giving you artisan coffee directly on your bar counter; fresh coffee at your location! The Micro Roaster is easy to use and requires little of your valuable time!

There are many factors when making an Excellent espresso, however many users are not familiar with tweaks that could be vital in serving a well extracted espresso. One very important factor is the brew water temperature and its effect it has on an espresso taste and extraction.
Brew temp is not always an accessible brew parameter but with the right espresso machine or ‘know how’ it can be altered. For instance, on our Rancilio Class 11 (https://www.tastecoffeeonline.co.uk/espresso-coffee-machines-700613.html) you can alter the temperature for every espresso by the touch of a button on the touch screen display others you either have to enter the program or change the pressure stat.
Altering the espresso temperature is not something that all café operations chose to alter as part of their morning routine. However, we do hope that café users are testing grind, run times, humidity and ensuring there is no change from ‘day to day’ wear and tear or just simply someone having moved a parameter.
Standard espresso machines brew at one temperature set by the pressure stat, unless you have an advanced machine. The brewing temperature of the water used should be between 195 F (91 C) and 205 F (96 C). We suggest around 93 but this would depend on the roast as light roasts will perform better at higher brew temperatures, whereas darker roasts will require lower brew temperatures. Boiling water (212 F - 100 C) should never be used, as it will burn the coffee, having said this its just about finding that sweet spot!
Below is a rough guide on how a coffee taste profile can change when temperatures are adjusted.
